I have a lot of domains and I’m tired of managing everyone’s email addresses. It’s difficult to recover every email address with multiple inboxes and accounts. By forwarding emails from different domains to the same email address this can be simplified. To enable this feature, you must direct the MX record to a provider that supports it.
CloudFlare Email Forwarding
You can make this process easier if your domain is managed by the Cloudflare platform. The Cloudflare platform includes free email forwarding.
Go to Websites > Select a domainand you will see the E-mail functionality in the left menu.
Next, you will be redirected to the Email Routing page and given the option to update or edit MX records to use Cloudflare MX record settings.
Click “Add records and activate“. Go to “Itineraries” and add the email address you want to forward to your primary email address, by clicking “Create an address“.
Add your domain email address and add the destination email address, then click Save.
Now all emails sent to a custom address will be forwarded to the destination email address, in my example above, [email protected] will be transmitted to [email protected].
MX record conflict
If your email is currently hosted elsewhere, for example on Google, you cannot use this feature and must use Google’s forwarding mail instead. Or, if you want to move to Cloudflare, you need to remove or delete the existing MX record.
Be aware that changing these records could cause email to stop working.
